Multiple Drug Arrest
Officers of the Sheriff Department in Ritchie County have carried out an arrest in Harrisville, Ritchie County, on the 5th of December, the officers performed the search with a search warrant obtained based on intelligence realized from an existing drug investigation. The search was conducted on the home of Raymond Mark Sellers located at 863, Slab Creek road, Harrisville. During the raid, and with the help of a police dog they were able to recover about 4 ounces of Methamphetamine which were examined and confirmed, they also found another set of the same drugs in another part of the apartment together with cash which was to the tune of $7,000, furthermore, they found some marijuana, plastic bags, and a scale which gave the indication that the suspect was also selling these drugs.
Mr. Sellers has been charged with the possession of a controlled substance with the intention to deliver and has been remanded in the North Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 surety bond.
Also in the city of Parkersburg, a man was arrested during a routine traffic check, where a search helped reveal the presence of about 16 grams of heroin and large amounts of currency notes. The routine traffic check was initiated by the West Virginia State Police; one of the State troopers pulled over a Black Cadillac around Cedar grove road and Happy Valley Road and agents from the Parkersburg Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force were called in to assist, a police dog named Ogi and a Wood County Deputy Sheriff also assisted in the search and arrest. As a result of the stop, agents of the taskforce went to an apartment at 828 cedar grove road where they were also able to recover some methamphetamine measuring about 1 pounds 12 ounces and Marijuana which measured about 90 grams together with some heroin which measured about 15 grams.
The suspect Matthew Gonzalez has also been charged with the possession of a controlled substance and the intention to deliver a controlled substance. He was initially on parole in the state, but the parole has since been revoked due to the recent arrest. He has been arraigned and his bond was set at $100,000
