Deputies of the Ritchie County Sheriff’s Department have arrested a man identified as Anthony Barszczewski, 25 from Ohio for possessing a large supply of marijuana.
The arrest was made on the 28th of July, during a routine patrol conducted by the sheriff’s department. The suspect driving a Honda Accord moved past them and when they stopped the driver and approached the vehicle, they perceived the odour of marijuana from the car and saw a wihite powdery substance on the suspect’s laps. Mr. Anthony was then restrained and the car was searched resulting in them finding a smoking device, scales, bags, cash of up to $1,793 and some sizable cases containing some green leafy substance which when tested showed a positive result for marijuana. Further investigations revealed that the suspect’s license was suspended.
Mr. Anthony was arrested and kept at the North Central Regional Jail with a $46,500 bond. He is being charged with possession and intent to deliver a controlled substance.
